Bhairava means terrible, formidable. This is one of the eight aspects of Siva. Bhairavasana is named after him.


Technique for Bhairavasana

  1. After releasing the hand grip in Kapilasana, exhale and recline backwards.
  2. Fold the arms across the chest. Keep the right leg stretched straight on the floor.
  3. Stay in the pose for about 20 seconds, with deep breathing.
